Scuba diving can be categorized as commercial diving (diver working at 200 meters depth to lay fiber optic cable), technical diving (diver carrying 2 to 3 cylinders to penetrate sunken warship) and of course, recreational scuba diving (majority of the divers like me). Although scuba diving labeled as dangerous sport in many insurance policy, but the fact is recreational scuba diving is one of the most relaxing sport you can ever find. Divers range from the age from 10 to 80 years old.
The first certification level for PADI is called OWD (Open Water Diver). Anyone can relatively pick-up OWD training and get certified easily. These are the pre-requisites for an OWD candidates:
- Reasonable health
- Ability to thread water for 10 minutes
- Ability to snorkel for 300 meters
- Complete 50 theory questions exam with passing score above 75%
